I know that it was definitely worth doing a fuls NADS on the earlier models, but will it still benefit me with a later model, or just cause more issues?

I know that it was definitely worth doing a fuls NADS on the earlier models, but will it still benefit me with a later model, or just cause more issues?
I did the EGR block and have a catch can but didn't bother with the daws as I am happy with the computers boost control on the CRD.
These will not cause any issues except the EGR block can throw up a fault code that can be reset if you have a Scanguage or simular, I drilled a 8mm hole in the EGR blanking plate to prevent the fault code from coming up.
Block the thing mate.
As tpc said , its gonna throw up a code maybe and engine light. It's just a EGR flow sensor saying hello to ya. It does nothing to your performance so either get a scagauge to keep resetting it or just live with it.

I didn't think blocking the EGR was questionable. :) Exhaust Gas recirculation is bad news for any diesel engine, not just a Patrol. Block that shizz and be done with it.

So where exactly do i install the blanking plate? (I am no mechanic, just trying to learn and figure it out as i go).
So aside from the block itself, i just need a catch can, scan guage, and maybe a dawes valve. Anything else? Already installed a 3 inch exhaust
Depends on the shape of the plate you have will depend on where it goes. The two common spots are at the EGR pipe to EGR valve. I'd advise against here only because of the exhaust heat this section cops. It may be hard to undo the nuts there. The other spot is where the cast EGR pipe meets the intake manifold, under the intercooler...Quote:

So please bear with me here (still trying to catch up on this discussion). Have I got this correct?

3. What am I likely to see if I install an EGR blocking plate - more particulates in the exhaust? Cooler engine temperatures?
4. Presumably such a change would be considered a modification to the vehicle that would make it unroadworthy?
5. Would this affect insurance?
From your experience, where is a good place to get the necessary bits to block the EGR?
What other "bits" would I need (or be helpful) in terms of engine setup or monitoring?
