Anyone else going? Be good to meet a few other NP'ers.
I'll be heading down Saturday arvo, might take the pig down if the clutch is fixed.
Might even head out to Bunyip for a play after if anyone is keen?

I have to put some blokes turbo on otherwise I would've popped in.
Bloody Darren ;)
Ah bummer mate! I'm thinking of heading down around 3pm, hanging around for a while and filling my gut with snags, then go for a drive at some stage afterwards.
For anyone interested:
Easy/Medium late afternoon/night run. This saturday 3/12. Meet at 4.30pm at Werevr4x4 Carrum Downs for 5pm leave (I'll be down there earlier though). Probably have another meet point out Pakenham way, or towards Bunyip. Thinking either Bunyip, Noojee or Neerim.
33" muddies and rated recovery points/gear required. Be a medium trip for this setup is what I'm hoping for. Always good to have a navi, winch would be a bonus.
Too far away for me to attend.
Spewing about that, but does it have to be so specific? Is anyone with a 50mm lift, 31"tyres and shaved diffs invited?:tease:
Yeah, it is car specific to a degree. A Vitara on 31" muddies will probably get further on a rutted track than a gq on 33's.
Thing is, I've been on trips that were meant to be 35+, and had blokes in stock Tritons turn up. Makes it awkward turning them away, and having them come along either means a boring day for the capable trucks, or a lot of skull dragging the other guys along (which gets old).
Aww. You took all the fun out of it:(
I see your point though.
Haha, sorry. I've led trips before where people in stock trucks wanted to come along, and despite telling them it would be a hard day and they'll probably damage their stuff, they come along anyway.
Then when it all gets serious and hard recoveries are being done, or they've damaged something, I'm the one that cops the blame and gets yelled at. I'm all for people wanting to test their rigs capabilities, but need to be realistic as well. I don't go out with comp trucks that have twin motor high mounts, v8's and treps, for instance.
I remember the trip to the Otways with the forum a few years ago. Everyone else had two inch lift and 33s, except Apollofish and I. AF had a U so was still higher than mine and I was second last in the convoy. We only went through one boggy spot but I ended up with a ton of mud stuck underneath. Twas fun at the Colac spray booth. So I reckon it would be just useless on a real muddy trek.
I'll probably be running some easier stockish trips in the new year, I'll have the young fella on board so won't be doing any nasty stuff. I'll let you know, always welcome to join.
