So I'm looking at doing the cape next year and will have a fair bit of weight in the back of the patrol so I'm thinking about strengthening the rear coil towers (at the moment they are not damaged). I was looking at one of these:

The problem is they are $200 for a few bits of metal, has anyone actually made their own? Can I get download a template for something similar?

I put a Superior Engineering unit on my ute. Cost about $125 from memory and is a straight forward fit. The time and effort to try and make one yourself would be a complete waste of time IMHO
I used the Atoc weld in kit on mine, not cheap, but very high quality, and no nuts and bolts to come loose.

I wouldn't normally think of doing it myself but I need to do two cars.

Utes and wagons are different at ute has a lot more clearance above chassis and below tray. Mine is a one piece bracket bent and drilled that goes across full width of chassis. Easy fit.Quote:
