G'day
I have a 2009 3ltr turbo Patrol and since this morning I have an engine warning light on and the Turbo doesn't kick in. Has anyone ever had a faulty Boost Sensor and if so what were the symptoms because I am hoping thats all it is. The car has a "pressure/vacuum" gauge fitted which is showing zero or very little pressure when I accelerate.

Have you tried cleaning the Maf sensor get a can from repco or any of those shopsQuote:

Check your hose connections on the intercooler make sure one hasn't popped off

I actually have a new MAF sensor (the guy I bought the car off gave it to me....wonder why) which I was going to change but I need an Allen key with the hole at the end.

I wouldnt think you'd need a vacuum on your gauge

Forget the vacuum part. Its just a pressure gauge with a hose coming out of the front of an adaptor block under the "boost sensor".
I changed what I think is the MAF sensor (the sensor just after the air filter) with a new one I had but no difference. Its not blowing smoke. It sounds a lot louder than usual. I checked for any hoses that have come off but couldn't find any. I'm a bit baffled! Is the MAF sensor the same as the MAP sensor?

MAF - manifold Air Flow, the sensor near the air box on the inlet plumbing
MAP - Manifold Air Pressure, the sensor on the intercooler outlet plenum
I know you said you checked all hoses, I'm assuming air hoses, for example the intercooler hoses etc...
But have you checked the vacuum hoses that go between the vacuum solenoid, turbo actuator etc... ?
