Just blown 1st zd30 about to blow 2nd

Hi all newby here .2002 zd30 auto st .blew 1st motor 2 weeks ago 2nd motor same symptoms plus more? 1st one on each trip temp started sitting higher .motor blew at 3/4 on dash gauge up toowoomba range towing 5/8 trailer .2nd motor on trip back to brisbane temp kept risnig slight amounts .this was with new 160 thermostate and new alloy 4 core rad with two fans . Run very well on trip back.next day run well at idle. until 1/4 temp warmup and then grindy rattly run rugged like timing way out idle .stopped bad idle with temp swicth on dash turned on but starts again when turned of. And stops with small amount of throttle .

As for you problem did you know what your boost was at that time or what your EGTs were.

1 is bad enough but 2 man that's scary hope you get it sorted soon

Where did you get the 2nd motor from? Or was it a rebuild?

I think your intercooler was leaking creating low boost
which inturn gave you high EGts then bang 3+4 melt

Is your IC oily????

G'day and welcome to the forum. Recon you should be talking to whoever you got the second motor from.

Back again landy96 has started dementia so any help would be very apriciated so had trouble startingin site with password etc so intro location photo etc washard to work out .sorry for that. Cant find profile settings .
No gauges when 1st blew .yes intercooler is oily . 377ooo on clock .currently no reading on boost gauge ? 2nd motor was bare .told recond 25k kms ago .most of old motor parts refitted . Maf cleaned. Idled better with thingy underbellow maf disconected. So cleanedit to but doesnt idle better now.

Problem solved the guys at on track 4x4 slacks creek sorted me out . Stupid maf sensor made my car run like crap and the belt adjuster was bouncing around for hoffible sound . I bought a cheap one 2 months ago and it just died. Bought a dear one from autobarn but it doesnt feel any tighter ???
