2000 Gu Patrol Auto Hubs, My tyre place recommended I nip up my wheel bearings as they were a little loose, all that went well but when I put the hubs back in it what I though was the reverse order I now have dramas, The hubs will work in the lock position and 4wd engaged, but if I have them in the auto selection when I engage 4wd I get a clunking sound, i tried reading my manuals I have here but they aren't much help. any advise would be appreciated
Pull out the auto part and just keep it as manual its stronger that way anyway.

I have tried locking the hub and putting it back in, something is not aligned up some where as manually locking the hub works but if left in auto, It just clunks.. My service manuals are not helping at all...
Too much grease?
yes there is a lot of grease in the hub, will clean it out tomorrow and refit and see how that goes...

Might be the grease, might not, but too much grease in the hub mechanism, whilst not always the culprit, can definitely give the symptoms you describe.
I think you got it there et, I did the same bloody thing with my winch and couldn't get it to free spool Bang Head
I'd still pull out the auto though lol
I'm about to get some AVMs but quite happily try whipping out the auto of the hubs first.
If someone could tell me how?
