GQ front hubs are getting very hot

Hi people hope some one can help me out i have had my swivel hub bearings and one set of wheel bearings replaced the other was cleaned and re greased i went off roading for a day ( rocky terrain no water or mud ) when i unlocked the hubs i noticed they were ouch hot I'm not sure if i did any damage , there is no grinding or clunking it drives great now my hubs are getting really hot under normal 2wd on roads i have looked at one set of wheel bearings cleaned them and put it all back together but and still they both get hot , I'm not sure where to look now any one got some hints

Could be your wheel bearings are too tight. You can Back them off a little and check for play

Edit: I think the torque settings are like 3-5nm so they don't need to be very tight

not sure of what torque settings i had but i did check for play in the hub before i checked the bearings ,there was a slight bit of play and after i cleaned and greassed them up i left a very small amount of play again so I'm guessing tightness is not the issue ? I'm thinking bearing failure is the issue but before i go ahead and change them again i would like to explore all avenues first as the one set of bearings i looked at looked ok after cleaning them i can be very unlucky at times ,this could be one of those times but hey I'm up for more advice

Have a read of Mudrunner's thread. What brand of bearings were put in and which grease was used?

I use the Innox mx8 Water resistant, high temp, high speed and high pressure grease. If moisture ingress does occur the bearings should be okay?

Thats after the167-196Nm, thats pretty important

Of course after the preload should have mentioned that

That is a good point one set of bearings were replaced the other re greased but not sure as to which was replaced or what grease was used . i looked at the drivers side and re greased them with Castrol HT GREASE for vehicles with front disc brakes with temperature range up to 200 degrees but made no difference

I used castrol htb 2 but probably next time I'll look at using a water resistant one but not sure what to use honestly
