helo there,
good day to all,
my name is Sherwin and iam from Philippines..
iam new here and..also planning to buy used 2001 (y61) or 2004 (gu dx).
can anyone suggest which is better..they both have the 3.0 zd30 engine.
please also advise on what to check in the car to prevent future headache..

Any before 2007 crd should have the NADS mods done
Welcome to the forum. If the vehicles are in similar condition then the later the model ZD30, the better. Early versions of that engine had problems (melting pistons) but later ones where more reliable.
Problem occurred when towing heavy loads up hills at highway speeds.
Welcome.... and, all else being equal the 2004 will be better as it is after the early period when the ZD30 had an unusual number of failures

avoid the early ZD30 say 2001-2003 and buy the lastest model you can afford
