EFI to Diesel conversion.

As many of you know I am going ahead with a diesel conversion (yes I should have done this in the first place) and the pressure is off a bit as far as time goes as I have paid the reg on the Bluebird today and no longer need to tow.

There are many things I have little knowledge of when it comes to this conversion..

I am told I need the TD engine mounts but is there any other mods??

I want to turbo it and will need another system so whats needed there??

I am told there are 5 or 6 wires that the TD needs to run what are they and how do they come into play with an efi car??

I know there are many other things but I thought I would get the thinking cap rolling........

I will also be selling me efi engine very soon.

If you want a cheap turbo to start of with and upgrade later there are currently a few ht18s on eBay in vic with all the lines ready to go. One has a small front mount too.

Park it next to someone's who is td42 (Winnie, AB, MR etc).

Engine mounts will I believe. You will want to replace these anyway as it's gonna be far easier now while your doing the swap.

Td starter is 3 bolts so you need a bell housing. I'm not 100% on this but you can also get away with drilling the third hole on the tv bell housing.

Tacho is different.

It might be a little more than 5 or 6. You will need wires for the following- fuel shut off solenoid, glow plugs, oil pressure switch, coolant temp sensor, starter, alternator and engine speed sensor.

As for the turbo mate what do you want from it. You need to go for a drive in some people's TD's and this will help.

Turbo I have been told to invest in a good manifold and worry about a better turbo later... I knew about the bell housing and will have a td one to use.

Because I want to go turbo what should I be looking at as far as exhaust goes???

Everyone has offered there rides for a test drive but Winnie lives miles away Andy has parked his while doing his mod and Matfew also live about 40min away and I need to try and make time to get out there???

I Don't think the looms are the same for all clusters.
