Yeah had one for about a year before it shit its self... price is way over the top
Have a look at Icom Ic400 Pro or IC440n. they are very robust.
X2 delivery has always been prompt, a couple of business days to Canberra being the average. Of the 6 or so UHFs I have bought from them over the years I would have saved hundreds. Can't recommend highly enough, I have used GMEs with no problems.Quote:

Quality, yes
Extra features, not really
Performance, a qualified no
Radio performance is 90% about your antenna/s.
Uniden are an OK brand, not as good as some, better than many others.
If you have a good antenna most people will never know the difference.
If you have a poor antenna then it doesn't matter how good the radio is, it will still be crap.
