Type 2 patrol variation.

Just a bit interested to know if anyone knows the major differences around the patrol "spirit" and "type II" models mid to late 90's and rd28t , I have searched online and wasn't able to find detailed specs of information distinguishing them apart . I believe they both have diff lock switches and L.S.D. switches , and possibly bigger diffs than other patrol types?. I am aware there's plenty of factory options for them , but I'm more interested in the core differences , or is it a re-branding of the 4x4 for different markets ? Thanks .

What country? They would have just been marketing models. Generally they will have LSD or Difflock rather than both.

Nissan Ptrol came out with 2 different sized rear diffs, the H233 and the larger H260. Not sure if the H260 came out in an early GQ though?

The RD28 ran 4.6 diff gears.

Yes I did more research around the lsd , and others had asked the same thing on another forum http://www.exploroz.com/Forum/Topic/...atrol_LSD.aspx and yes I do believe they only have a diff lock switch.and a lil more info from online source"Some Nissan Patrol's & Safari's have different front & rear diffs. While the front uses the same diff gears throughout the range the rear has 2 options:

H233 11 Bolt (smaller) - Diff centre mounted using studs
H260 12 Bolt (larger) - Diff centre mounted using bolts
Some people belive that upgrading the rear H233 diff housing to the larger H260 will be a stronger option, but this is not the case. The pinion used on the H260 is the same size as the H233 and this is regarded as the weakest point. The H260 pumpkin is larger which will give you less ground clearance, the extra size does not help with strength and the weight will hurt fuel .. ................... ............. . as for my question , the type 2(1995) is a Japanese import into N.Z. and the spirit(1998) is also .

Could anyone enlighten me on what the standard factory boost would be set at on the RD28T ? cheers
