Water coming in through fan and a/c seal

Hi Guys, wondering if you could give me some advice.
I took off the windscreen wipers, then the grilled panel below, I wanted to pressure wash clean inside the cavity left open after removing the grilled panel that catches all the rain water. It was quite clean just a little dirty. Once I cleaned it I wanted to spray in some wax or fish oil for protection.
The problem is that using a pressure washer it must have forced water into the fan air intake.
As with the GQ`S you have the fan box butted up against the A/C unit, its where the two butt up together water leaked in onto the carpet. I also noticed the air flow knob was set on outside air intake.
Can anyone tell me where the fan air intake is, and there is a slight gap between the fan box and A/C unit. Shouldn`t there be a gasket or sometning there to seal the two.
Guys could you please heeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllllllllllllllllpppppppppppp.

Mine has a gap there too and have had water pour in after deep river crossings.

It's strange because it should be sealed like others I've seen but mine is about a 10mm gap.

It is normally filled with foam tape like the weather seals stuff you get to seal the doors to your house. It deteriates and vanishes.

mine was the same I removed the fan unit to remove the 100 leaves stuck in the fan. I then stuck some double sided tape to the edge facing the A/C unit. I then reinstalled the fan unit.. then I cut a car wash sponge into 10mm thick strips and poked them into the gap with a screwdriver. mainly to seal up from dust and loss of air flow through the A/C unit.

Still haven't done this...lol

Was thinking just closed cell with one side adhesive from Clark rubber.

It's a double sheet there.
So air will still come threw from the vents, but the rain etc settles and runs under the intake on the bottom sheet..

If you add to much water then it's not going to drain Off, and has to go somewhere.. That's right, indoors..

How to fix it.. Um, sheet metal lip around the intake of the fan to add some height,
Which is pretty extreme..
Or you can block it Off..

Hey Guys, I got some doudle sided sticky plasticine like roll strip form work. I think Bostik make it, its around 8mm thick x 10 mm wide and very sticky.
It completely sealed up the gap that used to be between the fan and a/c, works awesome.
