Hey guys this is my first post since buying a brand newy 07/2013 y61. It is the limited edition with the bull and tow bar, spotties, build in satnav, cameras, side steps blah blah .
I have never been to Fraser island and am looking to go soon! Has anyone else gone and want were the things you deffinantly need for the island? Some things are obvious, (tyre gauges and compressors) but do you need a Snorkel? Extra fuel,
Any answers a good one please.

So just spray it very liberally everywhere underneith with the fish oil?
Maybe an exhaust jack but I'm not up on sand driving, not my thing
Best place in the world , easy 4wd hesps to see , time your trips to champagne pools , and lake makenzie , morning and arvo to avoid crowds , kingfisher is great for a day trip , they have a day area with pools bar and meals , fuel is available in the townships , eli is always crowded , theres a lot of good things to see on the west side if time permits

Hi mate, I have the 2012 model with the same satnav etc and returned from fraser about a month or so back.
The good thing is that satnav has built in tracks for Fraser (you just need to turn the 4wd option on)
I didnt have the 2" raise at that time and went with stock tyres. Snorkel is not needed there, however its a good insurance in long term.
I had dropped the tyre pressure to 22psi and didnt have any issues.

Dingos were everywhere and were not afraid to approach us. So watch the kids like a hawk , do not let them out of ur eyesight.
Just got back Saturday night via Kingfisher Bay barge. Suggest use Inskip Point barge as drive up the beach is a lot easier than going across from River Heads but Wanggoolba Creek track better than Kingfisher track
Any stock standard 4X4 will handle everything the Island can offer as long as tyres are down to 20psi or less in need. I started at 24 and then 20 and noticed a big difference in loose stuff. A shovel and maybe a snatch strap is all you will need. A bit of extra clearance if going over Nagala bypass track would help.
Watch the radar and breath and drug tests especially south of Indian Head. On a hot day, the view at Eli Creek and Champagne Pools are worth the drive.
Diesel was $2 a Litre at Eurong while "only" $1.60 here in Hervey Bay on the weekend.
Going back for 3 weeks in October and will camp north of Waddy to get away from the crowd.

I was up there in July. We stayed at Dilli village in our camper trailer. We had no issue driving the beach anytime on a falling tide. Its a bit soft high up on the beach but had no issues. I have BFG KM2's and I ran them at 16 psi. There is lots to see.
I didn't bother with fish oil and lanolin. Definitely don't use the car/underbody wash at rainbow beach, they use recycled water and you are just adding concentrated salt back into your truck.
I gave mine a really good wash when I got home with a high pressure sprayer and put a sprinkler under it for about an hour moving around. Lots of CT18 truck wash helps too.
