2 sheets of ply and a couple off cuts courtesy of work . cost = $0
Carpet was a end of roll at bunnings. ( can't remember exactly, but buggar all )
Screws, glue etc I think 30 bucks tops
I stayed away from runners or bearrings for 2 reasons. The laminate on the marine ply slides easy on the base laminate. Not easy enough that they slide by themselves but easy enough. Other reason was the cost. a good set of runners would have doubled the build cost.
I went the height I did to fit whatever I like in the drawers, fit the 80l waeco on top, fit a duel battery in the rhs compartment, all recovery gear in lhs compartment, and the sub in the face

Man, that is great. I've seen a pic of what I want for mine, and your pics, and setups make me think I could do it too.

Great build, If you had to buy the ply would you go with the same? Supporting batteries and serious speakers would be better in a heavier construction.
It looks like 19mm which is fairly heavy, as you say the surface is good for the drawers to slide and that is only on that 19mm form ply.... I think.
A lighter ply if used could be fitted with that "Teflon" strip as Drifta Kitchens use. Corners can be reinforced with 40x40x1.4 mm aluminium angle ($26.00 per 3mtr from Bunning's) I am always looking at keeping the weight down.
Like the design and use of space, a good DIY for a good price.
