"shim"

What is shimming a diff? Whats it mean/whats it require?

Hi mate, shimming a diff is adding shim washers to the LSD to make it tighter after it has loosened with wear and become inaffective, should really be done by a Pro.

Yep so when they fitted your lockers they would have set up your backlash with shims

I always admire diff and gear box mechanics...............too many moving cogs for me to play with!!
