Never heard of the patrol diff needing bracing... But the rear top spring mount yes.
If your moding it, you might aswell trim the bottom off. Increase the diff height..
But only do once lokka is in so you know how much room you have..

Sorry no pics
The front diffs do need bracing if you're going to be going hard (jumps etc) There are kits available that you weld in just can't remember where to find them
Basically you're gusseting the diff.
Sent from the crapper while on tappa
You'll find the term is laminating, on top of the long side you'll need box section cut the length, {tapered} and
fully welded then there is a smaller 12mm piece welded to brace the steering knuckle[ball] sorry no pics
I'm sure there are pics here of this simple mod. make sure the heat from welding doesn't twist housing.
Well there you bloody well go...

Fantastic work guys, thanks a lot. I'll be doing some welding then, cheers again ;)
At the thinnest point near the "ball" is where the small gusset goes on top
Grind it all smooth with a flap disc, sand blast and coat/paint it. look at a product called
POR15 if its over there great protection, very, very long wearing
I think superior do a weld in kit, or bolt in..
And I think growler or mega have cit down there diffs.
I'm looking at doing mine... Found a cheap diff as mine is my daily driver...
