GU headlights - need to disable 'always on' with ignition

Hey Guys,

Just bought an 09 DX model that was ex government. As an OHS requirement, it has the headlights wired so that when the ignition is on the headlights stay on and the headlight on off switch on the indicator stem doesn't do anything. Can anyone tell me how to disable this and wire it up properly so I can control the lights as u usually would on the indicator stem switch? Don't see the need in having the lights on ALL the time! :)

They normally mount the control unit for the auto lights on out near the main battery.

You will need to remove this and it's wire harness.
