GQ Auxiliary tank and long range ok?
Hi guys,
Been looking at installing more fuel capacity with a view to a couple of long range trips in the planning for the next couple of years (lord knows you can never have too much fuel in a TB42E). I intend to try and pick up a second hand LRA 75L aux tank to go with my existing 147L long range one. Are there any issues I need to be aware of?
It seems that there are a couple of different ways of doing the install and the one I prefer is to have one supply and return from each tank rather than pumping from one to the other. Any thoughts on this method? Does anyone have any installation instructions (from LRA or similar) that I could follow or get some ideas from?
Cheers,
Drew.

TD, something you may be able to help with.
The patrols have a fuel pump upfront. So am I right is saying all we need is a pick up / level sender and a solenoid to switch between tanks?

Kallen, I think you need a 6 way valve or something....
There's not a lot if info about on how to pull it all together out there on the interwebs

Your spot on there mate. A 6 way valve though.. I might need to do more digging. Havent read that bit. But I can't think why either. Maybe someone could explain a bit more..

I think from the bits I have pieced together, it allows a fuel supply and return line for each tank so you can pump from either one. Otherwise you have to pump from the aux to the main tank which looses some of the benefit of having the two tanks (better than carrying a bunch of jerrys but not by much).
