Theres one in my gq. Great, done 50,000k towing 2.5t, mud, everything. Works great. Good feel. Still has heaps of life left!
I just fitted a 4terrain kit with the solid flywheel. I have dealt with the wholesalers of these clutches for 15years and know their product. It ain't garbage. Just remember to machine your flywheel AND put a new spigot bearing in.
Plus lube up the thrust bearing carrier too. what flywheel you running at the moment? Dual Mass or solid?
Had one driving a 350 chev 4x4 not a problem , highly recommend, comes with cool wooden box too.
I'll be honest. that sounds a little cheap.... Do you already have a solid mass clutch?
I don't what the original flywheel is
I have a gu td42
I have heard a couple of reports that they aren't a good clutch and people have had them kark it straight away
Reading up on them they say they are stronger than the exedy
Thats real cheap for a 4Terrain kit still. The 4Terrain and the Exedy Safari kit are the two heaviest clutches. Both are not rubbish. I have sold both in my time. Both have failed people at times too. What you don't hear is what they were doing when it failed. Either one you won't be disappointed IMO.
I am not sure if the 4.2 is a solid or dual mass. Perhaps someone else can answer this.. Didn't realise is was a 4.2 just saw the GU part.
Solid flywheels IIRC...
Td42 has a single mass/solid flywheel. The 4 terrain are good as are the exedy safari tuff. The price you have is pretty good, I paid under 600 for a safari tuff but the trade helps with that. There are plenty of people running the 4 terrain behind a 4.2 on here including one with a 200hp at the wheels TD42 so they are up to the task. If your a little skeptical check out NPC's 6x6 patrol clutch and viper clutch.
