Camp Oven Cooker
Have been hunting around for a heat bead cooker for the camp oven for times where I don't want to take a lot of gear or the Ozpig, that I could use in summer during firebans and caravan parks etc.
Trundled into BCF today and found what I was looking for as I don't have the time or tools to make 1 up myself.
It takes up to a 9qt oven with feet safely or a 4.5qt without feet and holds roughly upto 1kg of beads.
BCF have them for $100 with a 9qt oven or $40 (normally $60) without the oven for those that are interested.

I saw one of these while wasting time in Brisbane earlier this week, I recon they look like an awesome addition to the camp oven tool bag!
Recon I might add one to my wish list for this Christmas.

$60 !!! Wow - I just use a stand that was made out of two pieces of reo bar bent into a U shape and welded in the middle. I just poke it into the ground and sit the beads under it and the canp oven on top of it. It also takes up very little space.

You 100% positive you could use this outdoors on a fire ban day. Even the Oz pig wouldn't be allowed. as it uses a solid fuel
from what I've been told you can't even use eg. 4 burner BBQ
the cooking item needs to be 5 mtrs of a fixed structure.
As the powers that be believe even a hot chop bone if it falls off the BBQ can start a fire.
This is Vic only along the Murray, no fires at all in NSW in summer at all along river, I think.
We always put buckets of water nearby, just to keep rangers happy.

I doubt you could use this during a total fire ban. It still uses solid fuel and you certainly need flame to light the heat beads.

It is my understanding that heat beads are not allowed to be used on High, Very High, Extreme or Catastrophic/Total Fire Ban Days.
Please, check with your government/local authorities before you light up.
Take care out there.
Rossco.
PS. Enjoy your new toy. Looking forward to the pics. lol

Looks great. Can you use it on Fraser. No fires allowed.
