Dash lights came on

Hay a mate of mine has a 2002 gu 3l he was 2 hours into a 6 hour drive when the sub tank auto box and battery light all came on and now this arvo he found his battery was flat just wondering what would have made the dash lights to come on I wouldn't think it would be the battery because we stopped and started it a few times any help would be great thanks guys

i would check the alternator output. if the battery is run down it may cause it

X2 on alternator, happened to me

X3 Alternater. Just means he has a strong battery (for now)

We have the same problem when we have broken diode bridge. Go to alternator service.
