All, need some help and advice. I want to clean the MAF on a 99 2.8. I have read the posts on the 3.0 motors but the layout seems a bit different on the 2.8.
The MAF seems like a fragile part so I didn't have the confidence to just have a go without checking with you all first, so any one who has preformed this on a 2.8 I would really appreciate some step by step info on how to proceed.

Thanks AB, this forum has already helped. I went out to clean the MAF with the 3.0 instructions in my head, about to start undoing screws near the plug plate. Realised had 4 screws not 2 like the 3.0 so decided to come back in and check. Then starting reading about others who have broken the soldering behind the plate after removing the 4 screws. Result is a soldering job or new unit.Quote:

G'day Tuck that's exactly what I do every service. Unscrew the mounting bolts and simply spray the MAF specific cleaner up into the sensor without disassembling it. Pulled one apart on a ford once and it was a nightmare to reassemble, so I have learnt my lesson.
