I used 12 mm structual ply on my drawers that I made up but that's only because i had 2 sheets sitting here at home so I can't see why you can't as I've seen drawers systems made out of MDF sheets
I might go for the structural ply as it is only $10 more per sheet but the marine ply is almost double the structural ply price.
But marine ply is also twice as strong and durable
Thanks fella's where would be the best place to get the carpet to cover everything. I have purchased most of the gear so I will be making a start on them in the next few days, will be posting pics and updates when poss. Got the 12mm ply from bunnings $35 per sheet [1200x 2400] x2, handles, bolts and bearings from local hardware shop $82, Carpet [ still to come] $???, finishing project $priceless.
Visit Bias-Boating or Bunnings for the carpet. I do boat fitouts and these dudes are hard to beat. Cheers The BigFella

Any update pics?
Got this black carpet from bunnings think it was around $30/lm
Clark rubber also had similiar in my area.
