Jonah..The White Whale
Well that's what my 9 year old daughter calls it anyway :)
Gotta love Backpackers with buggerloads of cash......New Radiator R134a Gas with new compressor , new Dizzy with pertronix so much work just been done to it. Saves me a lot of cash and time I guess. Looks like it hasn't seen much off road. As you can see from the ride height wouldn't go too well doing the rough stuff, but it's a great start to work with.
Comments and advice are more than welcome anytime.
A day at the Mechanics.....................
First time at the Spanner Spinner's today. Fixed the leaking brake hose...tightened up front wheel bearings and we changed out all the fluids and greased all the nipples....Basically a clean bill of health ( Thank Christ...the missus would have killed me) The drive home was a great reminder how good these Beasties are....Have to have immobilizer fitted tomorrow then it runs the pits to get her WA Plates. Too easy

Nice looking Troll, will be a good starting point for mods.. Keep us all updated

The body looks in good nick mate!

What sort of mods are you thinking of..apart from converting it from a belly scraper?

Gotta loves those white whale s mate, I know I do....... looking forward to see how Jonah progresses

Mods.... I guess I'll be looking at the EFI conversion first to get it happier on the road, the Alloy Bar can go doesn't support winch setup, Rims and Tyres, Extracs and Exhaust, Tint the Glass, Just basics for now Ausman to get it going, basically getting it to "walk the walk" before it "talks the talk" From the look and condition I'd say she Towed a van or similiar as opposed to being a P Platers off road thumper, which is great, but will be checking ALL bushes with that in mind
This forum is fantastic though, so many have" done it all before" so the experience makes it easy to make the choices.
Was also thinking of going back to Series 1 Tailights and getting the tube type rear bar, can't see the point in Series 2 tailights if the ones above it can work as well, I know it was to satisfy ADR but yeah Series one and a high mount led brakelight somewhere to suit me.
So many mods to choose from, for a year or more it will be doing long haul trips as my work car so on-road economy will be priority down a lot of long corrugated dirt and dust roads.
Lifted all the mats and had a really good climb under it today and apart from from some very minor rust spots that are not worth mentioning, it looks rust free, even in the chassis

Well....been to the Mechanics, for the big once over and I have to hang my head in shame.....should've looked a lot harder I guess... Swivel hubs are fine, turned out to be a leaking Brake Hose on the P/Side. ( sheepish look ) Ah well, Changed all the fluids, greased all the nipples, adjusted everything inc. wheel bearings and shes now ready to face the pits on Monday to get her WA Plates.. Immobiliser fitted ( WA Law..has to be done) and a huge clean up. Removed the ancient Car Alarm that was crowding up the engine bay with wires going everywhere. ( Half a shopping bag came out) Funny enough even rewired the Factory Clock and it's back and working. So, finally, there is'nt a damned thing thing that is'nt working now.
For those who think their steering feels jumpy, replace the Steering Damper, Man what a world of difference that makes. Barely feels a bump in the road now . Just for the record the S14 Steering Wheel doesn't fit the G the turn signal canceller is different. Did manage to pick up a Series 2 GQ Wheel at the wreckers here for $100. It has lost its colour along the grip but the foam is secure to the metal ring within. Sigh guess I'll be listing a few more parts shortly that I didn't need ( Swivel Hub Kit...Wheel bearings etc ) But it drives fantastic now. The missus has been stealing it lately...might have to change the locks and hide the keys from her lol..

Jonah failed the RWC here in WA this morning.BUGGER!!! LPG Tank has to come out and sent off to be tested and re-stamped...Chip in Windscreen..and the 2mm nick in the PSF Seat Belt....But hey, considering that's all there is ..that's good :) Looks like the "Adventures of Jonah" will have to wait a while, as the Minister of War and Finance gave me her patented "look" this morning at the extra costs ( God Love Her :) One of the Forum members here ( Karl) is looking around tonight for the seat belt, the chip is repairable and, well there's no cheap way around the tank, it's coming out and sent off to be re-tested...then hopefully, I can write about it's driving adventures..... Funnily enough here in WA, there's no yearly RWC's so I'm looking around town and there are cars here getting around that are not only not roadworthy, but probably should have been condemned a long time ago...Ah, all good. If my Family is getting in the Beast then it's pure piece of mind to know that Jonah is 100% safe for them to be in......hmmm that 2" lift will have to wait for the funds to build back up, so "belly scraper" it is for a while longer.

A few More Pics........
A few piccys for those who like them:
The Nissan S14 Steering Wheel.....If you look at the pic of the back it is missing the little lugs that cancel the indicators. S13 is ok. Ah well it can go back on E-Bay ( Live and Learn )
Dry PS Hub after he fixed the leaky brake hose......( Yeah I Know............)
The "New" Steering Wheel from the wreckers...It was a $100 . It may have bled it's colour, but the foam is firmly attached, and a great feel to drive with, tried to save the ol' grey one but too far gone....
One of our dogs ( Gemma) checking out the new Steering Damper :Yahoo!:

Umm, don't know if anyone else has pointed it out but you appear to have a dog attached to your damper!!
Seriously though, to convince the minister of war/finance that you need extra funds..use this line..
"Dear, it's because I love you (put some feeling into that) and I want you to be safe when you're driving and if I raise her 2inches as I'd feel more comfortable that you'd be even safer"
Let me know if it works!!!
