TB42 air conditioning compressor

The compressor on my TB42 is seized, trying to find a replacement, I've checked it at work and the RB30 and TB42 compressors are the same, but a new one is pretty exxy, even at my cost price.

Could I use a compressor from a RB30 VL commodore? I think the VL's run a ribbed 4pk belt and the patrol runs a V belt, but assuming the pulley could be changed, or that I'm wrong, is there any reason I can't do it?

I have searched everywhere for a second hand one and either havent got a reply or theirs are stuffed too. I dont mind fitting a new one, if I have to, but if the commodore one will work, they're dime a dozen, so it's worth a punt.

Try Gold Coast 4x4 Wreckers mate ... they've got about 8 patrols there being wrecked currently ...
