Mate, that is a wiper seal and not bearings.
You should have seals that enclose the wheel bearings that are rubber lipped seals.
I can't remember if the axle has an inner seal, but the oil / grease...

If your only doing the one side you can get away with not removing the oil. Just jack the one side up so the oil won't come out.

I think you would hear and feel a collapsed bearing, my guess is a stuffed seal, mine looks the same. Only one way to be sure..........pull it down and check.

yep as 04OFF stated mate, try and swap the wires. Generally when you loose a direction on your winch it is a bad solenoid. The box on top has 4, if 1 is faulty then you will loose a direction.

if you put the clutch lever to "free wheel" ,can you turn the drum in the "in" direction by hand ?

see if the motor will turn both ways (under power) with the clutch set to free wheel.

Not really i have quotes here at trade price from 500 through to 2200 so that sounds alright do the ring around see who does what mods to the turbo and make your decisions from there :). The 500 is...

Really depends on what they are doing for that price i would be looking for a more suitable turbo.
some of them will change a wheel and housing with another off the shelf unit and call it a high...
