X2 - they'll expand through the centre of the tyre leaving it to wear faster than the outer edges, and having less 'equal traction' on the tyre across its width on the road.

Yeah keep running your hand over the area as you heat. If it starts to get too hot for your hand then it's getting too hot for the paint.
It take stickers off cars regularly (signwriter).

Definitely posible and many have done it. I think Marks Adaptors do the kit for it . I'm not really sure on the cost but a mate of a mate got a new crate motor and got it fited and cost him $20g's...
