GR is euro spec, GU is aus spec... the model actually being Y61
Some say GR is LH drive and GU RH drive otherwise they were the same but that is bollocks.

There were only minor differences...

Mine did the same, I used same contact spray cleaner in a can, I believe the switch is the drivers side. just spray all over and work the switch back and forward . might take 2 goes it, but worked...
