If you don't, you will find that you will have some driveline vibration from incorrect pinion angles.

1" difference is little off, perhaps driver side springs were fitted to passenger side.

Max boost is when your flat to the boards mate in any gear it wont matter. How far you set it. Only you csn tell us. Just go until you hit limp mode then back off a little.
