This is how I did my cover. Trimmed it down with a Dremmel and then sliced a piece of vacuum hose longways and put it around the cut section....

You can use a power finger file to remove some material from the plastic cover. Don't forget to cable tie all hoses and trim ends with a knife not side cutters etc, You'll thank me later

i went AuberIns EGT and BOOST (http://auberins.com/) from advice from these forums.
Digital readout and can set min/max + alarms.
From the US but arrived within 3 weeks.
These are non-pillar...

You won't need a new EGR valve if you are going to block it.

Mate it was in the snorkel itself, trapped on a bend through the guard. Popping the air box let it breath and indicated a blocked snorkel...

I hope you have found your problem.
A mate had similar issues in the weekend, we propped the air box open and it ran well. The snorkel was blocked! 2 handfull of leaves and sticks.
No more...
