No need to lift the car up mate, however if yours is ZD30 powered then the OEM dump pipe/DOC (Diesel Oxidation Catalyst) will not come off unless you drop LH side of the sway bar (front).

The a/c bearing can be replaced.
I did mine about a year ago. Plenty of info on the web on how to change, not too hard of a job.
Best is to take off the belt and spin the a/c by hand, if noisy...

You can buy on ebay a complete set up and wired to turn off DRL`s when the, either parkers or headlamps are switched on.
I have done this and it works a treat.

It is a weird rule like a lot of others but, Yes, aftermarket DRL's must turn off when headlights are on whilst Factory fitted don't (altho most do).

You could wire them to your parkers and have a toggle switch on the earth wire,
to turn them off when your headlights are on, The toggle could have a LED in the
end of the lever
