Your on the ball with your mods bud.
One thing to get and keep the EGTs a little lower was a better IC scoop. The Factory scoop aint worth a pinch of old cocky sh!t. When I had my 3ltr I bought an...

I've got a full 3inch system from the turbo back no cat no muffler and noticed a change in throttle response, fuel economy, EGT temps and the motor seems to be breathing better.
I got mine made up...
One thing at a time is the way to go.
As for blocking the EGR. The motor will thank you for it.
It may show up an engine light. Because it will detect no flow through the EGR valve. But the light...
A tigged IC will give about 30% more IC, dont forget an EGR plate to compliment your mods.
Being an 08 I'd say your IC is leaking ,like Hodge says they all do at some stage. Being a
CRD I wouldnt...
Full factory form I was getting high EGT's. So thats no exhaust, no intercooler, no dawes/needle. This seems to be the norm on the CRD. It's been a few years since Ive owned my 3L. But from memory...
Yeah you're sweet then mate. My 2.75" exhaust from Beaudesert on my 2009 CRD gave a massive improvement, especially when the dawes and needle were tuned to its sweet spot.
My EGT's were OK. But...
Yeah I'm with Softy. Exhaust will give you instantly felt power and response difference. Intercooler would just give it more headroom for the EGT's.
Also don't forget. On a CRD, Exhaust may or may...
Exhaust made much more difference to my car then a upgraded intercooler..
G'day Wilbur mate, as best I have learnt here is that diesels are much like an air compressor. They do need unrestricted cool air in and again unrestricted warm fumes out therafter. My only advise...
I have dea 3 inch exhaust with cat no muffler for the price $700 fitted I am pretty happy, it is a bit louder than stock, but does not drone at highway speed which I am happy with,
I have just fitted a 3" from 4wd action, fitted up well no worries, was harder to take the old one off. It is very quiet, no louder than the original.
Have a look at the Beaudesert 2.75" exhaust that seems to work well on the CRD.
Have a think about ceramic coating the dump pipe as well,
a mod well worth the expense
It varies between vehicle but its usually around 16psi for the Di motors and maybe around 18psi for the CRD's.
I am only running the HPD controller at the moment and have no limp mode problems. It runs well but is a bit laggy at the start. I think I will put the needle valve back on and play around with it as...
