I guess you can use it for what you like but on a 4X4 it's main function is for rock crawling, to stop your foot bouncing on the throttle when you bounce around in the cab.

I've done this. I have the number plate on a hinge with a square receiver behind it which takes the same hitch as the Hay. Re. as the rear.

Ok, as a newbie, I've read lots about what is NOT suitable as a recovery point.

How about some details off what IS suitable as a recovery point - front and rear.
