Nissan Patrol enthusiast and proud Australian 4WD owner with over a decade of experience driving and maintaining GU and GQ models. The Patrol is without question the ultimate off-road vehicle for Australian conditions — whether you are crawling through rocky creek beds in the Kimberley, blasting across the Simpson Desert, or doing beach runs along Fraser Island. My current build is a GU Series 4 with a 3-inch lift, Old Man Emu suspension, ARB air locker in the rear diff, dual batteries, a 130-litre long-range fuel tank and a full roof rack setup with a rooftop tent. I have driven the Patrol from Sydney to Cairns along the inland route, crossed the Gibb River Road in the wet season and completed multiple Simpson Desert crossings. Every trip teaches you something new about the vehicle and about Australia itself.
On weekends I enjoy heading out with local 4WD clubs and exploring tracks that most people would never attempt in a standard vehicle.
