They have huge arches mate, so I couldn't see why a decent 3-4 inch lift wouldn't accommodate the tyres??

Hi mate, when you get a chance drop past the introduction thread and post up some info about yourself and your rig.

Intro thread can be found here: http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/forumdisplay.php?2-Introductions

Cheers

Gday tenchy202, welcome aboard mate.
As NissanGQ said, you should pop over to the intro section and let us know a bit about yourself:)

As for the question, Not exactly sure about a GU but i had an old MQ with standard (leaf) suspension and we were running 34inch Simex extreme trekkers without a problem.
I reckon youd want a minimum of 2 inch regardless. 3 is good.

A guy on the patrol4x4 forum did up a GU with a 3" lift and 36" pedes. Looked awesome!

Plenty of space to he rekoned, just extended the bump stops slightly, and no scrubbing.

Cheers!
