Just wondering if any of you folks are into car audio, and what your system consists of.
This is mine below.

Alpine head unit.
Soundstream Piccaso amp 65w rms {power for door speakers}.
Jaycar amp 520w rms {power for sub}.
Monster cable 1 farad capacitor {between battery and sub amp}.
6 1/2" pioneer splits in front doors.
6 1/2" Fusion Reactors in rear doors.
Digital Designs 12" Subwoofer mounted in a 2 1/2 cubic ft slot ported box.
Doors all been treated with sound deadener.

There is nothing better than cruising along listening to your music how it was meant to sound.:band:

Just got just got a cd player, 6" rear speakers, 4" fronts, all branded Eclipse, I've never heard of them so don't know if they're any good...... Sounds ok though, reasonable base, quite loud and I don't have sub or amp.

Ten years ago , hell even 5 years ago I would have...... Used to love a bit of duff duff and thumping base, used to have a mk2 1988 golf gti all kitted out, trouble is some barstewards kept breaking in and stealing the gear.
Now though I'm happy enough with a simple system, as long as it plays and sound good I'm happy........ Saying that though, I would love to have a system that could hold the 300Gb of mp3s that I have on me pc at home....... That way I'd have the right sounds for Amy occasion right at me fingertips lol

i am running a Sony touch screen with reverse cam, 6inch splits in front doors ( tweeter above speaker ) 6x9s in the rear mounted in sound boxes which in turn have been mounted on the bolts from 3rd row of seats.
looking at mounting my ipad in the dash soon, i drive an 08 gu with has that pen holder shelf or what ever its meant to be. thinking about mounting said stereo in the top storage hole ( which has no use atm ) which means some major custom work there, once i do that i will alter the double din spot to house an ipad ( u tube has some great vids on this but not in a patrol tho ) i use my ipad as a gps , its great.
maybe an amp and sub but i really dont think i need it...

well thats my 2 bobs worth.....

i am running a clarion head deck, 6' door speakers, tweeters, kenwood 6x9's.
In the face of my drawers, i placed my 12' pioneer sub and amp.
All up maybe 700 bucks worth and enough sound to keep us happy.

I've got a JVC head unit, Pioneer 6x9s in the barn door, Pioneer 6" coax 3 ways in the front doors (upgrading to 6.5" splits) running off a Kenwood 900W amp.
Getting a Kicker sub and amp in a couple of weeks.

45/70 would you mind putting up some photos of how you installed the sound deadener in the doors if you have any?

I used about six coats of a spray on sound deadener which I applied when I had my door trims off when fitting my speakers.
I know it's not as good as the stick on stuff, but I have heard stories of moisture getting behind the stick on stuff causing rust.

So it's more on the door than inside the door?

Yer, on the inside of the outer skin.
Just make sure you seal the cavity back up with the plastic or if you like, stick on sound deadener.
I have even seen people use MDF cut to the size of the cut out's in the door then glued into place.
