GU bar fit GQ?

I know its been asked before but i couldnt find much when i searched so here it is:
Will any GU steel bar fit a GQ?
Factory or aftermarket?

Hey mate, yeah it won't work. Not even sure the ends of the chassis rails will line up either.

The GU bars have the curve at each end and will look odd on a GQ as well.

You could make it work but it would be a lot of stuffing around.

Cheers, yeah thought the curve might be a problem. Will keep looking for a GQ one:-)

hey mate, not sure how good ya are on a stick, but i modified my last patrol's bar from a GU one. i just had to move the mounts up, drill some new holes and shorten the wings on the side(as i think the GU has a bit more of an overhang at the front) it came up looking neat and was rock solid! ill dig up a pic

as you can see it was winch compatible and i came across it at a RFS auction so too cheap to let pass by

The top bar looks like it bends close to the top of the grill...

haha oh yeah, it was very close, but there was still enough clearance to get the bonnet open.

Looks pretty good mate. I'm no welder but my mate is a boiler maker so he'd be able to do it.
