Just fitted a needle valve to my zd30, already have dawes valve fitted.
My problem is the boost is to high at 2000 revs it sits beetween 14 and 15 psi,
will it do any damage while i try and sort it out?
but at least my egt have come down quite a bit.

If egt's are down that is a great sign especially with those motors 14-15 isnt that high for those little motors i would say anything in excess of 18 may be pushing it but im sure some of the 3L people will be around to comment soon enough

egt were around 500c at 100km/h now they are between 350c and 400c.

15 psi is normal pending on if you have upgraded your intercooler 18 to 20 is getting high boost spikes of 20 plus is bad that's why you install the dawes valve to stop these boost spikes.
As far as egt temps go mine sits 200 to 300 around town and 300 to 400 on the highway.
I have a di model and 500 is getting too high the commonrail engines run a bit hotter and 500 is normal for them I've been reading

It's a di with 3 inch dump pipe and exhaust, standard intercooler, catch can, dawes and needle valve and i think egr valve has been blocked.
when taking off or accelerating boost shoots up to 18 or 19 psi then quickly comes down and sits at 17 or 18 psi till i back off

that's about rightyou could back the dawes value off a bit so it's about 15 o 16 if your've got your temps below 500 now you should be fine

Thanks guys, i readjusted the dawes valve i now get about 12 to 13 psi at 2000 revs but boost shoots up to 20 psi for a second then comes back to 16 or 17 till i back off.

Have you bypassed the ecu boost solenoid or still going through it ?
