I am looking at upgrading exhaust on the "snail". I rang and spoke to the pro's today and he asked muffler or no muffler, is there any huge difference?
Cheers

No muffler is illegal but it does sound good and helps the exhaust gases get out a lot better.
Make sure you get a 3" dump pipe too so It's a true straight through exhaust.

I've got a three inch straight through with a turbo and it sounds mean when you step on it but its pretty quiet when your just cruising, although i got TD4.2l

In cab noise isnt bad at all with a full length staright through. I have my 3" cut about 6" off the cab in my GQ ute with a small hot dog style muffler (sounds awesome) but is a tad on the noisy side
