Yet another newbie

Hello All

I am new to this forum but not new to Patrols.

My company has had several GU Wagons, all 3L autos (2002, 2004 & 2005 models). All were pretty good vehicles. We only stopped buying patrols due to warranty issues with the dealer, but that's another story!

Long story short, I am looking at buying a 1995 GQ Ute, 4.2D, extractors, Leaf springs, 338,000km's and thought that this forum would be a good place to find out what to look out for before I buy it.

Welcome aboard the Love Boat. You cant kill the Deisel 4.2 in the GQ very good choice. There are some good posts on the forum about what to look out for when buying one but providing that the price is good it sounds like a good truck, and very hard to find. Should serve you well

Gotta love the utes. Got one myself. The only thing I suggest when you buy one, is make sure it's white. lol. Just kidding. I love my 4.2 TDi white GU ute.

I'm from Geraldton. The ute I'm looking at isn't a Turbo and has been sitting around with not too much use for the last few years.
It has done some reasonably heavy work (farm work in heavy sand).

White, is there any other colour?!!

There is nothing wrong with the straight deisel in the GQ at all. As i said if you get it for a good price go nuts.
