Hey guys my name is joel im from perth and just getting into 4x4s. im currently looking at buying a mates GQ patrol with a rd28t that has snapped a timing belt and needs either a head rebuild or a complete engine rebuild. what would you guys suggest rebuild the rd28 or try and get my hands on a td42 and fit that. keep in mind im on a very tight budget and this will be my daily.

Those TD42s seem to be attracting a bit of a premium now. For good reason I guess.
Perhaps just adding up the dollars for each motor and also including the cost of converting from 2.8 to 4.2 will give you an answer, if you are on a tight budget.....
