Just wanted to know if any one has converted a auto GQ to manual. Don't own it yet, but interested in nice vehicle but its auto. also how does a auto fair in 4wd anyway? never owned one.

Welcome 2 the forum,

Great bunch of members on here always willing 2 help out where they can.

Just do a search on here, you should find a few that have converted an auto 2 manual.

Auto's a great in 4WD, yes they are more expensive then manuals when things do go wrong. I love my auto and would never go a manual :)

I've always had manuals, but there was an interesting discussion on a thread called Tank, that ran for a couple of days, a few days ago. Seems autos are no slouches off road.

Some people go to the trouble and expense of fitting reduction gears to their transfer case - both petrol and diesel, and according to one post an auto with reduction gears had more engine braking than a diesel.
