hey guys. We have a few patrols heading to eurong for a couple days 22/3 - 26/3.

question is, has anyone been in march?
what type of fish is best to target in march?
Any tips on locations?

Any tips appreciated. All of us being fraser virgins, will be fun.

cheers

Good question mate, you'll be out of Tailor season. Hopefully someone can shed some more light but you may get Bream but it may be too early for them too.

Dart, whiting and flat head would be the go I reckon...

March is noted as the worst time of the year to go .. apart from the cooler water currents starting to shift through, it's right before the autumnal exquinox and subsequently the fishing is just about always ordinary at best. The weather is affected also and March at Fraser is listed as having "on average" 23 rain days. Aside from all that, because it's known to be the least "busiest" period for locals (who know to stay away), they offer ridiculous rates at the resorts to tourists to over populate the place and compensate for the lack of business ... that means heaps of foreigners, heaps of bogged trucks in tracks that will block your way, and heaps of your time wasted getting them out as none of them will have any recovery gear in hire vehicles.

I personally wouldn't be going ...

B@stards ... LMFAO!!!!!

I have no idea what it's like at this time of year, but I do know I'm not able to go and you'll have an f'ing ball of a time ... I say again ... B@stards!!!!! LOL

BEST TIME EVER TO FISH IS IN SEPTEMBER AT NEW MOON. 300 TO 500 TAYLOR A DAY BETWEEN 3 BLOKES. Please note you will need to hide most of the bounty from the rangers.

We spent a week up at Dunabarra camping ground at the end of Feb and we were fishing most evening's in front of the campgrounds getting good size dart & trevally and also got a couple of good size bream , take aerogaurd as the march flies were very bad due to all the recent rain , we started off on bushmans first but the flies got a liking to that ,

Common sense hey ... it's not all that common unfortunately ...
