gday mate.
Just did mine not long ago.
tb42e, not sure if td42 any different but
remove radiator shroud and you should get access to the fan without need to touch radiator.
Lining the bolts up when putting the new fan back on is a pain, but doable

Ive done a fan blade replacement on a TB42, you dont need to remove the shroud
The fan slips out fairly easy enuf ,lining the bolts is a little fiddly, but not hard
Take your time, shouldnt take any more than 45 mins start to finish
IF ya got huge hands, maybe remove the shroud

I've don it a number of times to replace water pumps, AC tensioner bearings and belts. I always pop off the top shroud. It is nice to have a small 3/8 or 1/4 inch drive air ratchet to spin the bolts on and off. It helps keep the skin on your knuckles.

If you still have original Nissan clamps, while you have access it is a good idea to check your power steering and ATF (if you have an auto) OEM hose clamps for leakage and weeping. I replaced all of mine with good clamps as most were leaking or weeping fluid. You will also have to drop the skid plate and rubber apron from the front.
