Hey All,
Just bought my first 4wd as the Commodore couldn't get us on to the beach for camping. Asked the brother in law for advice with a remit of : 1. Needs to get us on the beach, 2. Needs to be reliable, 3. Needs to be Diesel & 4. Budget under $10k.
So I am now the owner of a standard 1993 Diesel Ford Maverick , with Dual batteries, roofrack & UHF radio.
Future upgrades include small (1" or 2") lift, cargo barrier, air compressor, wind deflector & new tow tongue.

Welcome, John!
I don't have a suspension lift, but if I did I would go 2" as that is where a lot of people have set theirs - thus the ruts in the track are that deep :-) 1" might not do the job

Hi John. Welcome to the forum mate. Sounds like you've ended up with the best 4wd. Id go the 2 inch lift (dont think you can get a one inch lift?).
I too came from a commodore to a Patrol......Its a good move hey?
