I am looking to do a TD42 conversion in to a GU and have been looking around for a while and have not had any luck.

Can any one suggest a place to buy a TD42 in Sydney preferably?

I was even considering a low km front cut (if possible) as it will have every thing needed for they conversion.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Not sure about Sydney mate but in Melbourne Patrolapart are a good source of TD42's and shipping wouldn't cost an enormous amount.

Other then that, keep your saved searches on Ebay, Gumtree, etc and get on to them straight away if anything comes up.

I just did one in a gq and i really think you would be better off buying a whole car damaged for the conversion.
That way you get everything you need and then recoupe some money back from the left overs.
I advertised on gumtree wanted and got a whole gq diesel cheap with rust.
Surely with these new stat write off laws their would be some around at a reasonable price on manheimfowles or pickles.
Or even people that were paid out from insurance and got to keep the car with it's stat write title.

Thanks, I didn't even think about the auctions. I agree that a donner vehicle would be the best way to do it, it is all the little things that you have to track down that can get expensive.
