Here are some pics and videos of the wagon, and a few mods we've carried out to make it a better touring wagon.
This is one of the 1st drives we went on, with a mate in a nice 80. We went from Eungai to Bellbrook via bush tracks to get to Slim Dusty's family home.

Got some Goodyear MTRs at a good price, but they're 15s and at the time I didn't realise I'd have clearance issues with them. That meant I had to get some fibreglass flares as well as the Bunnings flares.

Thanks mate, don't know about being a weapon, but a very capable tourer for sure. No body lift, no 35s, no 4" lift (well maybe not :devilred: )

Nice car Astro. I used to love Astroboy cartoon as a kid hahaha.
How are you liking the Milweld rear bar and side steps? I've been looking into buying their stuff recently.. figured it'd be a nice drive up to Mansfield one Saturday and get them to fit all the gear while I'm there.
Can you comment on the quality? Did you fit the bar yourself? Can you possibly take more pics of the bar like departure angle, side on views, underneath, the welds!
One thing I was told to watch out for was the welds on the wheel carrier because they are normally the first to go carrying a 35" tyre (not that I will be, but still).
But yeah, narrowed my rear bar and steps suppliers down to 3 mobs.
Milweld, All Terrain 4x4 and S&J Horsepower.
Also, where'd you get that light bar? I googled "Sudso Light bar" and resulted in a patrol 4x4 link. No way in hell im going there with the viruses that site has now.
Cheers

I emailed Millweld and asked them if I can drive up, buy a heap of stuff and for them to fit it, haha.

For Timbo (and anyone else who's interested), here are some close-ups of the Millweld rear bar.
Right rear corner. The plate is where the spring-loaded pin sits to hold the wheel carrier in the open position

Showing departure angle - the tow bar now sits a fair bit higher than standard

look like nice fat welds.
How long did it take you to fit the bar?
They told me it takes them about 4 hours to fit and wire it up.

Yeah mate, bit more than half a day, not long really. As I said, fitted up nicely.
And they modified their sliders to make them steps, for the wife.
