Hi i am a member from slovakia and i am interesting in how much does fuel really cost in other countries now. In Slovakia average price for one liter of diesel is 1.45 euro and for petrol it is 1.52 euro. So when i am refuelling full tank to my 2.8 GR it cost more than 120 euros:( What about prices in your country?

In Melbourne Australia we are paying around $1.50 AUD which is about 1.20 Euro.
That's expensive fuel on your side of the world mate!

We're about 1.20 euro per litre for diesel mate. Price varies state to state in Australia, and pretty much week to week also!!!!
Premium petrol is around 1.3-1.4 euro on average but that gets up to over 2 euro for most fuel types in the outback.

Crickey!!!! Our average take home wage is around 650 euros for what they consider "average Australian wage", but our minimum wage is an hourly figure of around 11.1 euro per hour. Our cost of living is considered pretty expensive across the board, but we all feel we get stung on fuel prices.
That said, not many of us think much of paying $2.50 for a can of soft drink at a shop for lunch (375ml), but complain that a product that is mined for, refined and shipped around the world before being dispensed in high tech expensive stations costs as much as $1.70 for a litre (1000ml). Not that we go through 40 or 50 litres a week of coke though I suppose!!! lol

Know what ya mean big , bottled water is more expensive than fuel! That's crazy! Especially in tas where theres am abundance if fresh clean water. Around home its about $1.60 lt for diesel and $1.50 lt regular unleaded. Not sure how many bits of euro fit into that.

I was think that our prices are high, but after Europe our prices are quite friendship it is 0.45 Euro/L of Diesel and Petrol 92 is 0.55 Euro/L.
And if trust to "world fact book" in www.cia.gov our GDP - real growth rate is on the 35 place between Congo, Democratic Republic and Paraguay.

Dad mentioned when he was in the states a few months ago that the yanks were whining on paying US$1.50 (or higher) a gallon which from memory equates to 4 litres here in Oz, I would love to pay 37.5 cents a litre here

In Western Australia we can see what our fuel prices are going to be today and tomorrow on this government website.
I get the prices sent to me daily, for free. It covers the city of Perth and the rest of Western Australia (country)

I was talking to somebody the other day and they have recently driven across Australia and said that fuel was $1.99 a litre on the Nullabor.
Take care out there.

Yeah when I was in the states last month in Arizona on the way to the Grand Canyon a bloke was complaining at petrol being US$ 3.69 a gallon (less than AUD$1 a litre). He was cursing and actually irate about it. This was way out in the middle of nowhere though. The going price was about US$ 3 - 3.20 a gallon. So cheap compared to us here in Australia. I can't remember the actual figure, but we pay a tax premium of about 37% on fuel also in Australia.
The point about water being more expensive than fuel is a misleading stat. Water out of the tap costs much less than bottled water. You cannot buy fuel in a 600mL bottle also. You pay for the convienience and for the bottle itself more than the water.
It is interesting though that people get so irate and passionate about fuel costs when they are happy to pay $5 for a can of red bull or some crap like that. I am lucky enough to not have to drive very much and not have to use alot of fuel. As we all know our beloved Patrols like fuel.

I do 80ks a day in my tb42. Half highway, half country hills. It chews through the fuel!
And the fact about water being more expensive than fuel is not misleading.....a litre of petrol is $1.50, if I want a litre of water from a shop, it costs around three bucks...... It doesn't matter what the bottle costs or the fridge to cool it, the price is 3 bucks. The point is that a massive amount of cost and technology goes into petrol refining plus taxes, and it's cheaper than a bottle of water.
I agree though that people wont hesitate to buy a $5 drink or upsize their mealdeal but will drive around nit picking over 3 or 4 cents a litre on petrol!
Drive on!
