Sensor or Solonoid on fuel pump

Hi Guys,
I am new at this so forgive me if I make any errors.
I just purchased a GU 2005 Nissan Patrol tray top with a 4.2ltr Itercooled Turbo Diesel engine and on top of the throttle control on the pump there is a black sensor or soloniod that is adjustable by undoing Two screws and I was wondering if someone can tell me what it function is as I can't find it out in the manual or our Nissan Dealer?

I am pretty sure it is a tps throttle position sensor.
