View Full Version : Clutch fork clicks after tuff clutch installed

Well the tuff clutch got installed today and loving it!
Slight problem though...
There is a slight intermittent click sound coming from the clutch fork when you just press the clutch in. This only happens sometimes and most of those times happens when you havent touched the clutch for a bit.
It clicks at the start of pressing the clutch and you can also feel it in the clutch too.
The fork was greased after the sound was found and the click kind of stopped for a bit but sometimes clicks every so often.
All I can come up with is...
1) Extra pressure from a heavy clutch
2) clutch fork bent or cracked causing it to jam at the start maybe?
3) something restricting it at the start of operation?
Any ideas???....lol

When i did my clutch i had the bearing carrier surface machined where it meets the clutch fork and they welded and resurfaced the same area on the clutch fork.

Thanks mate, I reckon mine is either bent, cracked or somehow getting restricted at the start of engagement.
I'll have a better look at it today.

Is it just a click or does it feel more stiff in that spot as well?

The start of pressing the clutch is slightly loose then grabs and I'm 100% that the fork actually gets stuck on something or is bent maybe and hitting the side for a split second then releases.
I'm sure It's nothing serious but years of the fork sticking on something will surely do damage.
Strange part is that it only happens sometimes. Most times happens when you havent touched the clutch for a while when driving. As if if the pressure builds or something...lol
Definately stiff at that sticking point mate.

Funny you say that...lol
everything was pulled off and put back on again and it all works fine now...lol....No answer to this sound unfortunately. All we can think of is that something didn't line up properly but back to normal now!!!
